Google Search Console Guide: Add Properties & Index New Pages

Google Search Console (GSC) is a free tool from Google that helps website owners monitor their site's performance, detect issues, and ensure pages appear in Google search results. This guide explains the difference between Domain and URL properties, how to index new pages, and how to get your website fully discoverable online.

Understanding Properties in Google Search Console

When you add your website to GSC, you are creating a property. There are two main types:

Domain Property

URL Prefix Property

How to Index a New Page

Even if your site is already added to GSC, new pages may not appear in Google immediately. Requesting indexing helps Google discover them faster.

  1. Open your verified property in Google Search Console
  2. Paste the new page URL in the search bar
  3. Press Enter and click Request Indexing
  4. Google will crawl and index the page, usually within hours or a few days

Example: Publishing a blog post like “AI Voice Agents for Salons” can appear faster in search results when you request indexing.

Submitting a Sitemap

Submitting a sitemap ensures Google automatically discovers new pages:

  1. Go to Indexing → Sitemaps in GSC
  2. Enter your sitemap URL, e.g., https://www.supertekservices.com/sitemap_index.xml
  3. Click Submit
